" I cannot thank them enough for their encouragement and support"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

This was my first pregnancy and as any new expectant mum, I was anxious about my labour. I went to Tameside hospital when I was 3-4cm dilated.

As the labour continued the pained increased and I was given the information I needed regarding pain relief. As my baby way lay back to back I opted for the epidural.

My midwife Anne explained the procedure to me step by step which really helped me prepare for the spinal anistetic.

Once I was fully dilated and it was time to push it became apparent that my baby was now struggling with the labour and help delivering her maybe needed.

All the options were explained to me clearly, step by step and how my delivery would happen.

In the end the baby was delivered by forceps, quickly, safely and most importantly stress free for baby.

The midwives, doctors and everyone else who helped deliver my little girl were amazing and I cannot thank them enough for their encouragement and support.
