Anything else?
I brought my 77 year old mother for removal of a lesion on her hand after an initial consultation with an excellent dermatologist, with whom we decided on surgery (and who does not do private work). The locum surgeon (a plastic surgery specialist as well as dermatologist) was very professional, meticulous and interested, the attending nurse was charming and supportive, the process was documented thoroughly, and we were given dressings for the wound. We could not get the requested 4 week follow up, so we must wait 6 weeks for a post-surgery review, but the whole process has been very efficient and felt very well-organised. It is interesting that neither of the top-notch professionals who saw us would have been available privately - this was the NHS at its best: consultant, nurses, photographer, surgeon, administrators working as a team.
"Very good experience"
