Anything else?
My almost daughter in law, on her way to visit Lincolnshire, was overwhelmed with pain in Grantham. She sensibly made her way to A&E rather than try to continue her journey. Alone and frightened, she was swiftly reassured and assessed, by cheerful, communicative and very professional staff. Referred on to a larger facility for surgical assessment she was kept advised of transfer waiting times and her comfort was assessed regularly whilst she waited. Bearing in mind this was a super sunny Bank Holiday Sunday, when every single one of the working A&E team must have been wishing themselves at home with their own families on such a beautiful (and rare) good weather day, they were all lovely. Just wonderful. Its easy to take the NHS and more particularly A&E for granted in our 'everything for nothing' society. And today I want to say Thank you very much indeed you lovely people, for doing a great job, yesterday and every day.
