What could be improved
I was a patient at the SWLEOC for a total hip replacement on November 22nd., and have two points I would like to raise:
Firstly, the food was execrable. I have never heard of your caterers, ARAMARK, nor do I understand their motto, printed proudly at the top of their "menu." What does "World Class Environment Of Care" actually mean? The motto was like the food, posh-sounding, but in reality, bland and meaninglass.
Fortunately, i was your guest for only four and a half days, and anyone who has to stay at the SWLEOC for longer, or the unfortunate staff members who have no reasonable alternative, has my deepest sympathy.
I came out of the recovery room on my first day to be told that, as I hadn't made a choice, my "supper" at five pm would be a ham sandwich. No other food was on offer until breakfast, fourteen and a half hours later. I know accountants and not doctors decide these things, but a ham sandwich followed by a fast is not likely to set a patient off happily on the road to recovery.
The selections I did make later were uniformly dull and flavourless and texture-free. The menu is unashamedly put together not with the patients in mind, but the cost. The whole eating experience at the SWLEOC is a triumph of the bean-counters" art.
I will raise my second point in a separate massage
"I was a patient at the SWLEOC ..."
