Anything else?
have just spent 20 minutes trying to alert the hospital that someone would be unable to make their appointment due to a sickness bug. most calls were timed out with messages saying the call could not be answered- others just had no answer whatsoever and just rang and rang (even on the main switchboard no. )
when i did eventually get an answer on a number they tried to transfer me to the correct department and again no response after several connection attempts and ended up being given the direct number to try again myself.
as there are signs and reports in all NHS premises saying how many missed appointments there are and to please let them know if you cannot make an appointment- this is not a good example when trying to let them know exactly that.
this is an area that either needs to be overhauled or a different system put in place for anyone who need to cancel/ rearrange an appointment due to unforeseen circumstances.
