About: Victoria Infirmary (Northwich)

Anything else?

I visited the infirmary around 16:00 I had rung beforehand to check the time of closing reception answered the phone within 10 rings which was good. I went to the infirmary on my bicycle but was disappointed when I arrived to find that there were no bicycle racks so I had to chain my bike to metal fencing near reception. I went to reception to announce my arrival the lady at reception dealt with me efficiently when I enquired about the lack of cycle racks I was informed that it had been determined that there was insufficient demand so none had been installed. When I said that I had chained my bike to the fencing and that I was dissatisfied with the lack of facilities the receptionist agreed with me that it was utterly ridiculous that an organisation that should be promoting good health and more healthy ways of living had no facilities to look after and encourage people to attend the infirmary on bicycle. I was also informed that people who did arrive by bike were advised to do what I did and lock their bike to the fence. I took from that that there were other people who were as eccentric as myself and arrived by bike and that in actual fact there was at least some demand. I took a ticket from the ticket dispenser for blood tests whilst waiting I noticed that people knocked on the door to the blood test room disturbing the two busy lady's inside in their extraction of blood from patients. I didn't notice a sign asking people not to knock or disturb people in the blood test room. The lady who took my blood was polite and efficient though having to deal with some awkward members of the public. Overall I was very happy with my experience.
