"I was treated very badly at the hospital on the 04..."

Anything else?

On the 04/03/13 about 11:40 pm I attended the Queen Elizabeth hospital with severe headache. I reported to the reception and explained my symptoms. I was told to sit in the waiting area and wait. A nurse then invited me into a side room and took my blood pressure and was given paracetamol. I was told to return to the waiting area and wait until Im called.

I was in such pain I was screaming in pain while I waited. I was ignored throughout the whole time. At about 2:00am I asked when will I be seen and one nurse told me to wait my turn.

A patient that was sitting in the main waiting area approached a few staff and explained to them that I was in great pain and need help. The nurse that dealt with me at the start came over and moved me from that area to the waiting room inside and left me there. I waited again and crying out in severe pain in my head, on the floor. I waited until about 4:00am, I then went around to where the Drs were and was told that it was my turn next. I went back sat down and waited until 5:00am again I went back where the Drs were and asked again repeatedly and then when I mention about complaining one Dr said that she had called my name and I asked her if I had changed me name and more over she has not been out there because Iv seen all the nurses and Drs that came out to call for patients. She said Im next on the list.

I went back sat down and waited until 6:00am when a Male black Dr came out and I asked him when am I going to be seen and he went away and came back and asked me to go with him to a room.

While I was in the room with him and he contacted the xray room his attitude was full of sarcasm describing my symptoms to the person he spoke to. He said "oh a head ache" unsure of what the person said to him he then laughed and said something sarcastic and was being unsympathetic in his tone.

The Dr then took me to have the xray done and when he brought me back to waiting area I was left unril 7:30 am and I had to go and ask for him regarding my result. He then came back and told me that I have a bleed on the brain and I will have to o to Kings hospital where the specialists are that treat me.

I was then admitted on the emergency ward where treated well by the staff. I was later sent up to a ward where I was later left to my own devise. I was walking about also had a shower. Also helping other patience in the room. I was about to be send to Kings in a hosptal transport when they were instructed to send me in an ambulance.

Overall the treatment was appalling and I could have died due to neglience of the hospital staff. I sufferred a Subarachnoid haemorrhage and with that length of delay I could have died. From research the earlier you are seen the more likely you are to survive. I sufferred with that severe pain for hours without any Dr or nurse attended to me. I am looking to seek legal action as this form negligence is unacceptable and I am quite sure people have died due to this form of illtreatment.
