What I liked
Keats ward is by far the most user friendly of several wards I have been admitted to n the past 4 years.I am 65 and have been treated like royalty.The teams are headed by knowledgible staff both friendly and responsive to any request about any subject from medication to personal problems no wonder they have won the 2008 "ward of the year" award and deservedly so.
What could be improved
More staff to help handle the large number of elderly patients whom needed and got personal attention with everything they needed including assistance in feeding at meal times.As a teaching hospital sometimes there are inadequate numbers to cope successfully with every day routines.communications from doctors to staff is rife with frustration when a promised advice or change of medication fails to be written up by the doctor and nursing staff rightly refuse drugs or change in medication doctors have said should be done but fail to write up in the bible medical notes
