"A Big Thank You."

About: Horton General Hospital

Anything else?

At approx.18.00 hrs. on May 1st.I arrived at A&E having followed my 95 year old mother in an ambulance, after a fall at home. She was hoping just to be stitched and sent home! The staff on duty could not have been more pleasant and thorough, and , though we did not get home until 23.30hrs.she would like me to thank everyone concerned for their care and empathy, towards her.She did complain about the uncomfortable ride in the ambulance and the uncomfortable trollies, as she was unable to self adjust her position.

Many thanks to all the staff on duty, at the time.

We were sorry to learn of your mother’s recent fall which resulted in an attendance at our Accident and Emergency Department. We hope that she is now recovering well and would ask you to thank her for her comments regarding the empathy of care she received.

However, we note your further comments, and wonder whether you would like to discuss your mother’s experience. My name is Sue McNiven and I work within the directorate involved in your mother’s care. My telephone number is 01295 229259 (Monday to Thursday) or 01865 221728 (Friday) – I will happily call you back.

Alternatively, you might like to email me on sue.mcniven@ouh.nhs.uk
