my husband is recovering at home tonight after day surgery. The problem was spotted by the Shrewsbury/Telford specialists where other hospitals missed it, and we have high hopes of today's treatment.

the surgeon took time to explain what would happen and what had happened, the nursing staff were efficient, thorough, kind and friendly, and the ward clean, tidy and well-run. Everyone kept us informed which was much appreciated.

Day surgery clearly has a high turnover of patients, but there is no 'production line' feeling.
