"Praise for elderly parent's care & treatment"

About: Axminster Hospital

Anything else?

My 97 year old Mother recently spent two weeks in Axminster Hospital on Morton Ward where she was treated with exceptional care and respect from all staff members from the Doctors, Deputy Matron, Sister, Healthcare Assistants and the ancillary staff members. Sadly for her she realised during her stay that she would be unable to return to her home, where she has lived on her own for many years, as she now required nursing care..the Sister on duty was amazing with my Mother during this whole process...ensuring the she fully understood the necessary procedures, liasing with family members and just always being there as and whenever my Mother or her family had any questions to ask. We, her family, cannot thank or praise the staff on Morton Ward enough...their care was excellent. Thank you very much.

Dear Anonymous

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on the website, regarding your mother's recent stay in Axminster Hospital on Morton Ward.

Whilst it was very sad to read that your mother was unable to return home, it was very pleasing to read that your mother was treated so well during her inpatient stay, and that both the ward sister and nursing staff made themselves available to fully explain every decision and necessary step of the way, at what was obviously a very unsettling time for all the family.

I have shared your very kind comments with the hospital matron and ward sister where I know they will be warmly received, and shared with all ward staff. I do hope your mother has settled well into her new surroundings.

Jayne
