"Excellent care, just sort the bed moves out!!"

About: Queen's Hospital, Burton Upon Trent

Anything else?

My father in law was admitted by ambulance, 999, he is 84. Great care given, everywhere was clean, he was given the appropriate tests and treatment. A and E was fairly busy and there appeared to be many agency nurses but staff were very pleasant. My father in law was then moved to emergency admissions as there were no beds on the medical ward. The only downside to his stay was that he was moved at 12.30am to another ward as the next lot of patients needed to move onto the admissions ward. Whilst we are grateful that someone else was probably moved to get my father in law into a bed, it really is not acceptable to keep moving patients late at night and especially when they are elderly. You need MORE BEDS!! A patient should be admitted to the appropriate area/ward and stay there so that a relationship can be built up between nurse and patient.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us know about your father-in-law's experience at A & E.

We are very pleased to know that you were happy with the care and

treatment he received as an emergency admission.

Thank you for adding the feedback regarding the moving of patients

late at night. We would always strive to avoid this if at all possible.

All your comments will be forwarded to the appropriate teams and we

will use this information to improve the patient experience across the Trust.
