Anything else?
i attended the a&e dept on 31/03/13 after being sent home from work vomiting, high temp and an extremely sore throat. i was sat in a&e for an hour and a half before i saw a traige nurse. when i went into the traige room i felt absoloutly shocking i could hardly swallow, i had a high temp, i had been vomiting and hadnt eaten or drank properly in a few days. the nurse was rude and unsympathetic and on several attempts at trying to take my blood pressure and an extremely painful blood pressure cuff on my arm i was told to pull myself together i probably had tonsilitis, as i became upset as i was in alot of pain from both feeling lousy and the cuff on my arm. i was then told that there was nothing a&e could do i should go and see my gp. after telling the nurse i couldnt deal with how i was feeling and the pain anymore she said shed make me an out of hours apt but i wasnt a priority so would have to wait 4-6 hours. as a nurse myself i could not believe the rudeness and lack of compassion. after several courses of antibiotics later given from the out of hours gps i was diagnosed with glandular fever. i will not be visiting or recommending the emergency services of warrington again.
