What I liked

Healthy, decent food.

Observant, caring, thoughtful and hardworking nursing staff (mostly).

Regularly cleaned (twice daily it seemed)

Excellent knowledge of staff at all levels

Well integrated service - notes etc. seem to be passed on smoothly.

What could be improved

Bed shifting - in less than three days I moved bed 5 times, twice I was woken at night to move bed.

Each in different parts of the hospital.

Some parts of the hospital really could do with being knocked down - the original Barry building of 1828 seems to have undergone little more than a lick of paint in nearly 200 years.

The different buildings are half-way integrated. Meaning they're all kinda connected, but aren't laid out, presented or organised uniformly.

Ward titles seem to be irrelevant. It seems you go where there is a bed, whatever your condition. E.g. if you have bad back, you'd think you'd be in the osteopathy ward, but it seems you'd have an equal chance of being in a cardic ward.

The nurses tend to congregate and make a lot of noise at ward reception desks when they're 'not busy' (particularly in A&E).

The pharmacy seems to take forever. I was ready to be discharged at midday, just had to wait for my prescription from pharmacy - I eventually left at 7pm.

Communication seems to be a bit slow at times, and you don't always feel like you're being kept up to date with whats happening. You find yourself having to continuously ask whats going on
