"poor treatment"

About: Salisbury District Hospital

Anything else?

My 11 year old daughter was kept waiting for 4 hours she was eventually seen at 23:30, we arrived in A & E at 18:50. Upon seeing the doctor we were informed that she had a sprained right ankle and that she should be encouraged to walk on it. After the doctor trying to make her walk on it, my daughter promptly fell over in agony, unsuccessfully they reluctantly gave her crutches to use with the instructions only for two days and she must walk on her foot. My daughter was in tears by this time in agony, no pain relief was offered and we were ushered out with no help or advise.

Five days later I received a telephone call from Salisbury hospital informing me that they missed a fracture on my daughters foot and she needed to come into hospital to the fracture clinic. by this time my daughter had been putting weight on the foot as advised by the doctors from Salisbury.

Needless to say we did not go back to Salisbury hospital, we went to Dorchester.
