"my experience of the A & E"

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

Anything else?

I have multiple health problems which i am being treated for, i had a pain in my arm and my doctor suggested i call an ambulance. The ambulance staff were really good, once in the A & E i had to wait for quite some time before seeing a doctor and was told i needed some tests, i was put in a side cubicle and away from anyone and was left for 6 to 7 hours without any means of contacting anyone, i was in a high sided bed. I eventually got out of bed and found someone and the doctor had gone home, they could find no information of me at all, my name had been taken off the board and no one knew i was there at all. A completely different doctor eventually came to me and prescribed some medication which i informed the doctor that i would not be taking due to the other medication. on returning home i looked the medication up and could not take it as it would have been dangerously life threatening along with the medication i was already on (which i had informed the doctor of). When my son had turned up they decided I was to be kept in even though the tests said there was nothing too serious wrong with me. I was so disallusioned with the treatment that i discharged myself. This was a suspected heart attack and yet I was left alone for hours.
