"The attentiveness, friendliness, ..."

About: Southampton General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The attentiveness, friendliness, team work of the nurses, especially the staff nurse and one of the agency nurses in AMU and my Dr's caring and professional manner. I thought that all the staff that looked after me during my stay 20-23 Feb (inc.) were excellent (first in purple then pink ward), thier caring and professionalism under such pressure never faltered! Truly and utterley re-installed my faith in the NHS.

What could be improved

Could probably do with a few more nurses on duty as I noticed the nurses were absolutely rushed off their feet. I noticed that on one particular shift, the patient bathroom remained dirty with no loo roll and my bed remained unchanged although fresh sheets were delivered to the room in preparation for a bedding change. I had a very high temperature and my sheets at times were soaked with perspiration. The food was really really awful and a sandwich or roll at dinner time (5-6pm) is simply not enough to see you through to breakfast the next day!
