My father has recently had an operation in ward 15. he could of come home on day 3 but ended up in severe pain causing spasms. he constantly had to ask for medication and then he wouldnt get it one time it was 5 and 1/2 hrs later he finally got his pain relief which is disgusting to leave someone in that much pain. one nurse on eveining shift told not only my father but the others on ward to empty there own catheter bags as she was too busy not good enough. she also came to speak to my father while we were visiting and took up 20 mins of our visiting time she spoke to him like he had no marbles and was so loud that everyone heard everything what was wrong with my father she was also very rude when i questioned her about his medication and tried to cover up the other nurses mistake. 1 visit i went in past the nurses station and a drugs card and a full bottle of drugs was ontop on the desk and on leaving 1 1/2 hrs later still there and no nurses at the desk how shocking to think a patient or anyone could of easily picked these up. very angry and upset by the way my dad was treated on this ward not by all staff as there were some lovely staff but for the ones who wernt they were just horrid nurses are people who enjoy there job in Caring for people yet these particular nurses its just a job and they get paid for it no care at all i really hope one day one of there parents is in hospital and receive the same appauling care as my father so well done ward 15 on making me hate castle hill hospital i will also be putting in a complaint over my dads 9 day stay from hell
