"Top class emergency department!"

I would just like to right to congratulate the East Surrey Hospital staff in Redhill for running an excellent Emergency Department.

On Monday my husband fell through the garage roof and shattered his arm in four places. We rushed into the Emergency Room and were met with a caring and compassionate receptionist who quickly noted our details. Within a few minutes a Triage nurse came and took us through for assessment and she was very calming and made us feel we were in safe hands as we were in a bit of shock at the time as his arm was looking rather scary!

X-rays were taken by a very professional X-ray department and then we were forwarded into the care of Nurse 'Richard' and 'Doc Martin' who are two people of the highest calibre in the medical profession in our opinion. Richard took great care of my husband and I can't thank him enough for his wonderful work. Doc Martin is a fabulous doctor and re-set my husbands arm exceptionally well whilst somehow managing to be professional and entertaining at the same time, a rare quality.

We left after 3 hours feeling astounded at the level of care we had received after hearing so much negativity on the media about the NHS in general we weren't expecting much and entered with trepidation.

Great hospitals such as this one should be commended when the opportunity arises. Thank you East Surrey Hospital, keep up the great work - we are so proud of you!
