Feedback is extremely valuable as it enables us to understand the patients' perspective and gives us the opportunity to reflect and learn from their experiences. We apologise for the delay in the replacement of the morphine pump; this may have been caused by the nurse having difficulty in accessing another nurse to check the dosage. Morphine is a controlled drug and there are strict policies in place for its administration. Advice about eating is available and we apologise for the lack of information given to you. We do advise patients who have had major gynaecological surgery to sip clear fluids immediately post-operation and then to eat a light breakfast of tea and toast. Food is gradually introduced over the day. We do advise against fizzy drinks and high fibre foods that can aggravate wind pain.
