My elderly mum had a dental appointment this week April. The surgery closes for lunch just before our appointment time. We went in at 3 minutes before our appointment. The dentist kept us waiting for over 20 minutes. No apologies, nothing.
After 10 minutes I asked the receptionist to find out how long the delay would be. They had no answer.
Then, the dentist said hello and my mum did not want to complain, she thinks it will have an adverse affect on the service she will get in the future.
I just think the courtesy of telling patients there will be a delay (with an explanation as to why) would have been appropriate.
There was no patient in with the dentist. A carer had been arranged to sit with my very sick father while this visit was made.
