"My experience during my pregnancy and labour"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary / Maternity

(as the patient),

During my pregnancy I had a few health concerns, it was my 3rd pregnancy and was definitely not plain sailing. On antenatal visits I never saw the same midwife and communication between services was very poor. But despite this always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome.

It would have been nice and more personal to be allocated an individual midwife for pre natal care.

The day of my labour I couldn't have asked for a more fantastic midwife. She is an absolute credit to the profession. Even when my labour turned for the worse she kept us calm and reassured us and explained everything that was happening.

Her quick thinking and experience helped us through this traumatic and scary time.

She delivered our son and the care both myself and baby received after the birth was exceptional.

Can't thank her and the team enough.

It would have been nice to have had that midwife all the way through my pregnancy.
