"Huyton Walk in Centre"

About: Knowsley NHS Walk-in Centre, Huyton

(as the patient),

I'd had a minor op on my foot earlier this month and had to go to Huyton walk in to get it re-dressed. I had an appointment at 3. 30pm. I arrived at 3pm, but hadn't been seen to by 3. 45pm. When I asked what the problem was the nurse came out and said that she'd been waiting for ages for me, it turned out that reception hadn't put on the computer that I'd arrived.

When I told reception they seemed to think it was really funny, whereas I was not amused.

Then the nurse told me that she needed half hour to assess me, but due to the wait she only had 15 minutes, so she couldn't do an assessment just the re-dress. I went again three days later for another re-dress and this time the assessment was done and I learned that since I have a thyroid problem that I shouldn't have had iodine on my wound, which of course is what they put on at the earlier appointment as they didn't ask me any questions.

I am not at all happy with the service I have received.
