I had been to Women's Health Care Department and was seen by my Consultant, she was fabulous!! A perfect doctor.

I must admin I was extreamly apprehensive to have my cervical swab due to past extremly bad experience in the very same department a couple of week back. The 1st nurse and the Registerar I saw were horrible. They never listened to me and went one hurting me (with a massive size speculum). I was the last patient on that day and they were running nearly 70 minutes late. No wonder they just wanted to close and back theur bags, I was not handled very well. This scared me so much and I was extreamly depressed.

But the Consultant was fantastic! I was again the last patient of the day, but was treated with complete dignity and respect. She confirmed that she has all the time to look after me and comforted me that it would hurt at all.. She tried a bigger speculum, but didnt work (as usual) but then immediately tried a smaller one (which the previous doc hardly bother to try) , and she did the swab in no time! She promised that it wouldnt hurt and she did it! I was surprised that the swab was all done in less than 5 minutes with no pain at all! And she finished the rest of the examination with complete ease! Her confidence and her skills in handleing a patient has no words to explain.. I would like to personally thank her and the nurse who attended me for looking after me so well.

Royal Bolton Hospital needs such good staff and doctors. Thank you once again.
