"High Praise for Staff at APH"

I attended APH today and from the time I entered the Main Entrance, through to leaving a few hours later, I was extremely impressed with the high standard of care and attention provided by all members of Staff. Nothing was too much trouble, we were greeted with smiles and helpful assistance.

I attended with my daughter and two granddaughters, one aged 3 years and the youngest 8 months. At one point we got slightly lost, and even before I had thought to look for someone to help,, a gentleman from one of the GF departments immediately noticed our bewildered looks and asked if he could be of assistance. Whilst showing us to the lifts, another member of staff waited to ensure we used the larger lift to accommodate the pushchair.

In between consultations and appointments, we went to The Bowmans Restaurant, where again the Staff couldn't do enough for us. One lady there was absolutely amazing with my 3 yr old granddaughter, arranging a small plate and a 'special' baked potato for her and helping her box up her cheese. All of this with the biggest of smiles whilst telling us about her own eleven grandchildren. I noticed that she was the same with everyone that came to her, happy, helpful and above all she looked as though she really enjoyed her job.

The food was superb too!

I watched everyone today, from the lovely Nurses in Rheumatology and Bloods to that fabulous lady in the Restaurant and many others in between, all were extremely busy in all their Departments with quite obvious demands on their time, but they still took the time to care and to give their time to visitor and patients alike,

In a time when the NHS is under such incredible pressure to provide excellence in care I can honestly say your Staff certainly do you proud. I cannot praise them more highly.

My only regret is that I didn't get their names in order for them to have the credit they deserve. Thank you - I am eternally grateful that we have a NHS .
