About: The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

(as a friend),

Just wanted to say they do not always ask the family. Our view was that they seemed to think we minded caring for our nan and that we would have wanted it to happen. We feel we are not like them.

We look after our families and we didn't mind her having dementia as much as we think they did. As a result, we feel that you can't trust any of them at all.

Response from Sue Mellor, Patient Experience Lead, Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Concerned Family of a Dementia Patient

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. I am sorry that you feel you cannot trust us. We normally receive positive feedback but we take all of our feedback very seriously because it makes us better understand our patients experience and make improvements. Many of our patients have dementia and we consider ourselves very respectful to them and their families although in your case it seems we have obviously let you down.

If you would like to contact us to give us more information so that we can more fully understand your individual situation please contact us via our PALS Team who will speak to you in total confidence. Telephone number 01202 704886 or please email pals@rbch.nhs.uk.

Yours sincerely

Sue Mellor

Head of Patient Experience
