After being in severe pain with my shoulder, and having had weeks of (almost) sleepless nights, I was eventually referred by my G. P. to see Dr. Chris Creaghan at the Skeletal clinic in Dewsbury.

I was given a scan on my shoulder, and I was able to see on the screen what the problem was, and the reason for my discomfort was explained to me in layman's terms by Chris, who showed me the mechanics of my shoulder and how I could ease the pain myself, just by modifying how I reached out for things by moving my arm in a slightly different manner.

I was also given a cortisone injection (small screen viewing optional), which began to work immediately, and from day one have had no more sleepless nights.

After a follow up visit to see Dr Creaghan, who told me the things I still need to keep doing myself, I am pleased to report, after about 4 weeks, I am still pain free.

After a few not too productive experiences with my Health Centre, it is good for me to say something positive about the NHS, and the Skeletal Service in Dewsbury, and I cannot thank Chris enough for the difference he has made after being in such prolonged discomfort.

It is really good to hear you are pain free and have not suffered further sleepless nights, let’s hope this continues. Chris and his team work extremely hard to ensure they undertake excellent patient assessment, care and treatment.
