"Amazing experience"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

Anything else?

I hurt my eye yesterday when I was gardening, and spent the night in extreme pain and discomfort. I was told by my local GP Walk In Centre that I needed to be seen at Moorfields, and went to A&E this morning. I was expecting a long wait, but to my astonishment I had been seen and treated within 20 minutes. I was seen by a triage nurse as soon as I arrived - I didn't even have time to sit down. The receptionist who booked me in was delightful, and I only had to wait for a couple of minutes before being taken through to the waiting area to see the doctor. Again, I waited for about three minutes before being seen by the doctor. He was very reassuring, and explained exactly what I had done to my eye and the treatment I needed. I had a wait of less than five minutes for my medication, and the nurse explained exactly how it should be used, and put the first dose of the ointment in my eye for me.

Without exception, all the staff I encountered were professional, kind, and very friendly. I thought the department appeared to be extremely well organised, and I can't fault the exceptional treatment I received.

Thank you so much for this lovely feedback. It's always good to hear from patients when we get things right - as well as when we don't, so that we can make improvements. I will make sure that your comments are passed on to the team in A&E.
