"Trauma 1 Understaffing affecting patient care"

In this ward, all the patients are bed bound meaning that they rely heavily on the nursing staff for all their needs. In most cases 2 members of staff are needed to help patients onto bed pans. As a dailly visitor for over a week now, I have seen how under staffed the ward is. Nurses are rushing around with not enough time to care & support the patients properly. Bells cannot be answered promptly because of lack of staff.

Yesterday, the patient's water & bell were out of reach of the patient.

Please increase the number of staff on the ward as a matter of urgency.

You would not be happy if it was your loved one in that ward.
