"No hope hospital"

About: Good Hope Hospital

Anything else?

My mum drove me in at about 5am as I had experienced an allergic reaction to some antibiotics I was prescribed and began going into anaphylactic shock. I am also asthmatic. Upon arriving at the hospital I was made to wait 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged the fact that I was gasping for breath. At this point my lips were purple, I was having difficulty staying awake and my hands and feet had become tingly. I essentially nebulised myself through taking numerous doses of my blue Ventolin inhaler whilst sitting in the waiting area.

There was another drunk, rowdy 'patient' who had urinated all over the waiting area seats and was being loud and abusive. Staff had time to argue with her, but not remove her, clean her mess or consider the impact of this person on the other ill people around. During the 6 o'clock switch over, staff seemed more concerned with chit chatting than treating. My condition was exacerbated by the lack of care, I had to wait 3 hours to be seen by a doctor and basically am never coming to this hospital of my own accord again. Next time I'm placed in a potentially life threatening situation I am definitely going to ring 999 instead.
