"The excellent staff who helped me when I fell and broke my ankle"

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I slipped on a file that had been left on the stairs at home. The paramedic and ambulance staff arrived very quickly and were very kind, humerous and professional.

The A and E staff worked very efficiently and I remember through the pain relief (as they worked on the dislocation) being told that I was doing well, which really encouraged me.

The night staff on the ward worked extremely hard, the lower grades especially.

Nothing seemed to much trouble, and they remained kind and cheerful.

When I had a post op. query I rang Claire, the O. T, and although it was not strictly her job, she made some enquiries and was able to ring me back to reassure me.

Dear PLG

Thank you for taking the time to give this feedback. We really appreciate this compliment about the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and the patients we serve.

If you would like us to pass on your comments to the ambulance staff who helped you, we would require further details about the incident (such as the date and the address of the incident). You can discuss this further by contacting our Patient Relations department email: patientrelations@yas.nhs.uk.

Once again, thank you.

With very best wishes

We are sorry to hear of your accident but delighted to hear that your visit to A & E went well. We will, of course, pass your comments on to the relevant departments at Calderdale Royal Hospital. We hope you are well on your way to a full recovery.

We are grateful to you for taking the time to provide feedback.
