"Having lived on the CLIC unit ..."

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

(as the patient),

What I liked

Having lived on the CLIC unit on Senne Ward intermittently for two and a half years since Sept 03 (with my daughter and granddaughter who has leukaemia) then when she relapsed on Aug 06, we then spent December which was our third Christmas in Treliske. I feel qualified to comment on the cleanliness. We now go frequently as day patients. We have noticed the intense drive to be super clean throughout the hospital.

The ward sister and ALL the staff on Senne ward have focussed on fighting the spread of infection. When children with cancer and little or no resistance, often acquire infection for their own bodies. The hospital surfaces are regularly inspected throughout the day. Sennen ward is spotless and cleaned repeatedly.

After bone marrow transplant the children return to Truro to utterly clean surroundings, fresh cooked local food and excellent clinical care. The parents would not use a hospital that is dirty or slipshod.
