(as the patient),

Initially my GP was hesitant in referring me to a specialist. This changed when the physiotherapist who was treating my knee contacted my GP to insist I had an assessment. Within a couple of days I was contacted by TRAC to be offered an appointment and also *my* choice of where to attend the appointment rather than just being told where to attend. Having that choice made me feel in control.
