"An unexpected admission "

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency Good Hope Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

I had an unexpected admission recently and was very reluctant to go to hospital, however after being directed there by the local walk-in centre I decided this was the best. Well, what can I say?

The care from both the medics and the surgeons was extraordinary! Being seen several times throughout the day and night of the bank holiday with the highest commitment to good quality care. I felt like I was being listened to and was in very safe hands. The nurses were amazing and the doctors- well, what can I say? They kept checking I was ok and throughout the night. Yes, I wasn't well at all, but I genuinely feel even if I had a minor ailment they would of still treated me with the highest respect.

There was an issue raised on one of the days where I was not too happy about care received, however this was solved very swiftly and was dealt with in a professional manner. The nurse who dealt with my concerns was very proactive and went to the ends of the earth.

Overall I am very happy with the care I received and would like to share this with others. A special thank you to the doctor (Hannah) who was the medic on call and Lorraine a sister on AMU- both were the highest standard you could ever have wished for.

Again, Thank you.
