I have nothing but praise for the staff at the Endoscopy Unit. I was very tearful and anxious having been treated badly at Nelson Hospital for the same thing. I need not have worried. I was looked after by kind, informative, friendly. reassuring staff. Apart from having a canular put in my hand and my throat sprayed to numb it- I knew nothing of the rest of the procedure. When I woke up after sedation, I was regularly checked by the nurses and when recovered enough to do so, walked, escorted by a nurse to a room where I was given tea and biscuits.I was then informed of my results. I f you need to have an upper or lower endoscopy done- I would recommend St Helier- based on my experiences.
