"Appalling wait, treatment & diagnosis"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

Anything else?

Twice I have been to A&E here with agonising stomach, chest & back pain, temperature & abdominal swelling. Twice after waiting 15 hours the first time in their so called "assessment ward" & 8 the second time. Both times sent home with Indigestion! Staff are ignorant to levels of pain & do not carry out obs on their waiting ward as instructed. You have to remind them.

Assessment Unit....... = sling them here so they think the wait in A&E is minimal.

Verdict, disgusted that after 3 more incidents of severe pain I sat at home self medicating as I was treated with the minimal respect for my level of pain and felt degraded at being told I had "indigestion" along with the disgrace of a wait for treatment.

I have had 5 children & am fully aware what indigestion is and its level of pain. My Advice...... Don't bother attending this hospital unless your desperate.

I walked into Fairfield A&E and within 10 minutes the doctor diagnosed me with gallstones upon me explaining my symptoms, didn't even need to examine me and referred me for a scan. He said any doctor with an ounce of common sense should have know the symptoms and treated them as serious.

Thanks to Fairfield A&E I am now awaiting removal of a 2" Gallstone that has caused me havoc and agonising pain longer than necessary courtesy of Blackburn Hospital.

Thanks blackburn for your disgusting level of care and common sense, They are closing Fairfield bit by bit and its a crying shame as the towns people paid for the majority of the equipment in the hospital. Why? So we can have lovely big fancy looking hospitals such as Blackburn that are incompetent, ignorant and are among the worst 20% of hospitals. Choose & Book, Blackburn I'll pass if you don't mind and opt for another hospital where I am treated correctly and respectfully and not made to feel like an idiot because I am rolling around in pain from "Indigestion" and given gaviscon
