My daughter is type 1 diabetic she had had a bad weekend while doing her Silver DofE . The support we had at the time and follow up support as always second to none.
My daughter had high ketone levels and we needed to speak to someone about how to treat her and did she need to go to hospital. Hilary the diabetic nurse understood that of course our daughter's health was our number 1 priority but that she had worked so hard for her Silver DofE.
Giving advice throughout the Friday evening and the following day. Becky then gave us advice on the Mon on other issues that had arisen over the weekend.
Then Kate came out to us to talk through what had happened and how we can get her to ther next expedition & our snowboarding holiday.
Always coming up with solutions never being negative over the activities our daughter does.
Do not know what we would do without the Locala diabetic nurses.
