About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Four weeks ago last Thursday I saw the Cardiologist. The consultation was handled correctly and well. I was told I would here about an angiogram in 'about four weeks.

I did not hear so I phoned the hospital on the recommendation of my surgery. On five separate phone calls I was put through for the phone to ring unanswered and then go to a voice mail. On the sixth occasion I asked to speak to the CEO. This also rang and went to voice mail. Some 30 minutes later I got through to the CEO office to be told that I was on the waiting list but they could tell me no more as the consultant's secretary was on holiday till next week. So next week I will phone again by which time it will be nearly six weeks since I saw the Specialist.

Why does everything come to a halt because someone is on holiday? If they were in business in the real world they would have been bankrupt years ago.

We would like to apologise that you have experienced this delay. We suspect that something has gone wrong with our process as it is normal practice to automatically send an appointment out for the angiogram if this was needed. If you could contact Karen McCredie, Specialty Manager for Cardiology on 01905 760625 she will be happy to help rectify this for you.
