About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

My son (Adam) was born back in April 2011, he was 3 weeks early and due to this caught an infection which turned to pneumonia. We live in Gainsborough so our first hospital was Lincoln but they transfered us to Leicester Royal as they had room for our little one.

It was hard as he was so ill and no room in the ambulance so i followed behind. By the time i arrived, Adam was on life support and settled nicely and everyone inroduced themselves to me and explained what was happening and the medication he was on.

I was never left alone incase he fell ill, which was nice. Made me feel at ease that people were watching him. I was never made to feel 'in the way'. I was always spoken to and told things in a term that i understood. Kind, kind people, each and everyone.

Adam is now a healthy (mearly 2) year old and this is thanks to the staff at Leicester CICU. Thank you so much.
