Anything else?
Over the past fifteen years I have had cause to regularly visit and stay at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. At times it has been very difficult for me especially as during this time my wife, after a long debilitating illness, passed away at the hospital. She was only 46 when she died. I was able to witness the amazing support she received from the staff at the Cancer Centre. Without doubt the palliative care she received helped her to maintain a quality of life that she enjoyed to the end. I too have been very fortunate to have received superb specialist surgery and care from staff in the Department of Orthopaedics who have treated me for a debilitating spinal condition. I have also benefited from the care of the Department of Orthotics and Prosthetics who have supplied me with orthotics to help me walk. I am so pleased with the outcome of all the treatment and now feel that I have regained some of my mobility and in turn a quality of life that I thought I had lost. This is indeed a hospital and trust to be grateful for.
