(as the patient),

Regarding my referral: I saw my GP on a Saturday, I was told I was being referred and given a number to call if I did not receive an appointment date within 5 working days. The following Wednesday I received a letter from my GP surgery stating that before they could refer me, they needed certain up to date information ie height, weight etc. Because of this delay I did not hear from from the appointment centre until the Friday - 10 working days after seeing my GP.

I feel that if I had been told at the time that the information was needed for the referral, then at least 3 days could have been saved.

Re choice of hospital: my GP, with my approval, asked for a specific hospital so TRAC

Staff did not offer me a choice.

Overall my experience was a positive one.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience of using the TRAC service and I apologise your referral was delayed. When your GP decides to refer you for a consultant appointment the GP will include certain relevant medical details, it sounds as though the delay you experienced was due to this missing data. The TRAC team works closely with GP Practices, if you are happy to share some further details about your referral with me I can forward these comments onto the practice so they are able to review what happened with your referral.
