"No Urgency"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

Anything else?

My husband was admitted by ambulance for suspected stroke. He was left in corridor for 30 minutes then a further 40 minutes in a curtained cubicle.

Examined by inexperienced junior doctor and told he would be given something for his dizziness! After a further 15minute wait, the nurse admitted she did not know where his medication was. After 4 hours he was admitted to the acute stroke ward.

Thank you for your comment, we are sorry that your husband experienced a wait in our Emergency Department and that there was some confusion over his medication. Your comment has been forwarded to the relevant staff within the Department so that they can review their processes and try to ensure this does not recur.
