"Lack of understanding of social conditions"

About: NHS Vale of York CCG

(as the patient),

At the start of this year (2013) I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic. A couple of weeks later, my practice nurse told me off for losing weight too quickly - I actually had norovirus. Six weeks later, she complained about my lack of weight loss, even though she'd only checked my peak flow reading as it was an asthma review!

Due to an error by our local jobcentre, I have had £30 a week to live on for most of this month even when I have been working - to cover rent, council tax, bills, food, transport, everything - and she said I was either lying, or making up excuses for not wanting to have a healthy diet. Poverty, apparently, doesn't exist in the UK.

I thought cold, emotionless, health care practitioners like this were a thing of the past, but evidently not.
