"Outstanding care"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Anything else?

I can honestly say that the care I have received has been outstanding. The neurology department have been looking after me since August 2012. I had previously attended another hospital and now out of choice travel to North Staffs for treatment rather than be seen closer to home. Staff are always friendly, courteous and keep me informed. I always know exactly what is happening to me and staff always have the time to answer my questions. I am not the easiest of patients and can be very nervous of some of the horrid procedures. Thanks to the care of the staff I feel more at ease and able to deal with things.

If only more hospitals were like this and actually spoke to their patients.

My only criticism would be the waiting time - I wait from August until February to see a different Neurologist that was recommended. Having said that I would rather wait to be seen at North Staffs than go elsewhere.

Dear pennyroyal,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

We are extremely proud of the care we provide our patients in the neurology department.

The staff set themselves extremely high standards and it’s rewarding to see that patients are appreciating our efforts.

I’ll ensure the staff in the department are made aware of your thoughts.

Kind regards,

Julia Birchall-Searle, Matron, Neurosciences
