They could not even give me a bed if needed at times as they closed all the other surrounding hospitals in the area to make this the only one.

The waiting times for some clinics is terrible, eg, Rheumotology clinic, over a year for app, this was with 1 urgent referral from doc and 2 normal ones.

Its pathetic, the place has too much wasted space, where they could have had more beds for more patients, and maybe then, it could be classed as the super hospital its meant to be

We are sorry that you have had to wait longer to be seen at one of our rheumatology clinics. Unfortunately there is a national shortage of specialists in this field and we have faced difficulties in recruiting an additional full time Consultant Rheumatologist to join the singe-handed consultant already in post. We regret the difficulties this is causing our patients and we are doing everything possible to reduce the time that they have to wait.

While we will continue to try to recruit an additional Consultant, we are also exploring whether clinical staff from some of our other services may be able to provide additional clinic capacity within Forth Valley to support the existing rheumatology service.

A great deal of detailed work has been carried out over the last few years to ensure that we have the right type and number of beds in our new hospital to meet the needs of our local population. The hospitals in Falkirk and Stirling have not in fact closed and instead have been redeveloped as community hospitals which continue to provide a wide range of local health services including inpatient services for patients requiring palliative, rehabilitation and continuing care.
