During the whole of my stay in hospital (my first ever), I enjoyed the greatest care and support that I could have wished for. The surgical team did a first class job and I cannot fully describe how grateful I am for all the kindness of all the staff. Even after a long shift, they were cheerful and polite - not always easy when they are dealing with often frightened old people!. The NHS suffers too many complaints where things have not gone according to plan and the general public are quick to criticise and rather slow to applaud. My experience of the NHS, especially where serious threats exist, is that the patient can expect nothing but the highest standards of care.. Thank you all very much indeed.
