Anything else?
I was referred by my GP to the team that specialise in General and Colorectal Surgery (Lower Abdominal problems). Initially I saw someone at Orpington Hospital who after examining my Abdomen felt a soft bulge on my Abdominal Wall. They suspected that it was a Hernia but could not be absolutely certain and therefore arranged for a MRI Abdominal Scan which I had some 6 weeks later at the PRUH - which was in my opinion carried out very professionaly by the Radiologist and she explained thoroughly how the procedure in such a confined space (tunnel) would be carried out.
I received my results today within the Chartwell Unit at the PRUH by a member of the team; a Doctor/Consultant (did not catch his name). They asked how I was feeling and revelaed my results to which I was exceptionally pleased to hear that my Scan was clear. They also, to reassure me, felt my Abdomen to further check all was ok. I am due to return in 4 months for a follow up appointment and if I am still getting abdominal pain then, suggested an Endoscopy to take a look inside my Abdomen.
Despite the fact no Hernia was present, I would like to pass my thanks to them for instigating the Scan; clearly is a professional who is thorough who had some doubt and wanted to be certain there was nothing untoward.
Please pass to Senior Management.
