"coronary care ward 22"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

Father, late 88, brought with with pulmonary oedema, which in my books is a medical emergency. Not clerked, or examined, until 6 hours later at 23.00. No chest X-ray, bloods or ECG request during the 6 hours. Earlier echocardiogram not referred to. Night nursing staff with a poor command of English. Call terminated by one nurse. Another advised that my father was comfortable and not complaining. When asked how she communicated with him since he extremely hard of hearing and has difficulty expressing himself in English, there was a stunned silence.

Simply unacceptable.
