"You can't be serious"

About: St Mark's Hospital (Harrow)

Anything else?

I had to change consultants as the previous one seemed keener on issues other than providing clinical services. This held up treatment for a time span in the area of two years. That was two months ago. The problems were a more than trivialities or my own personal anguish. They fall into the shocking area. Basically, there is little to no excuse the Professor can provide. I had one last try with this place by keeping an appointment with the surgeon. As a health consumer advocate of long-standing, I have seen more than a bit of arrogance amongst clinicians, but this one is an Olympic gold medallist. I was at first greeted by two students? who acted like valets, kindly informing me I was about to meet the surgeon. Allow me thank these people as I would have never known. The surgeon swaggered in a few moments later. Whilst I appreciate a person with a respectable level of self-esteem, he acted like a member of the Royal Family, acting as if he was doing me a favour by allowing me to be in his presence. St Marks being in Harrow, I had travelled a long way. He could have relayed his five minutes of previously known information over the phone...Finding the situation untenable and still waiting for the Professor to invent a rationale for his staff's conduct, I asked for a recommendation to another hospital. This request has gone unanswered. That was three weeks ago, but I am not holding my breath. Given the above, I would not attend this establishment for an STD, let alone the dilation of a stricture or a resection.
