"Referred to Obstetrician by midwife, but he..."

About: St Helier Hospital

Anything else?

Referred to Obstetrician by midwife, but he cancelled twice, first while we were in the reception waiting to be seen, the second time by letter days before the appointment. Next appointment given is after the due date, if an Obstetrician thinks this is a good time to talk about birth, days after it happened perhaps it's best not to see him at all.

Staff in the hospital useless, (reception, midwife, obstetrician, chief executive) all giving "Computer says No" responses.

Other issues noted that nobody with each department communicated with each other, letters sent with wrong information, missing leaflets, and incorrect phone numbers on them... Had to on numerous occasions point out mistakes staff were making when writing in my partners notes.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you had so many cancelled appointments. We do where possible try to inform patients in good time of appointments that need to be rescheduled. We are always trying to improve the way we communicate and this feedback will be acted upon. Pippa Hart Director of Nursing
